The Santiago FRP round tube Ø34 is a hollow glass fibre tube with a 34 mm outside diameter. Farmers use it for passion fruit, gourd, bitter melon and cucumber trellises and for small net-house frames. It does not rust, rot or attract termites and does not conduct electricity, so the same tubes can be reused season after season.

What is it used for?
- Cross bars and secondary posts for passion fruit, gourd, loofah and bitter melon trellises.
- Stakes for cucumbers, tomatoes and beans.
- A-frame and arched trellises for climbing vegetables.
- Frames for small net houses and greenhouses.
How does it compare with bamboo and steel pipe?
| Material | At ground level | After harvest |
|---|---|---|
| Bamboo | Usually rots at the base after a few seasons | Often replaced |
| Steel pipe | Rusts where it meets wet, fertilised soil and where wires are tied | Rust spreads each season |
| FRP tube Ø34 | Does not rust or rot | Taken down and put up again |
What should I check before building?
Heavy fruit needs strong main posts at the corners and along the edges, so send us the crop and the post spacing first. When comparing Ø34 tubes from different suppliers, ask for the wall thickness and the weight per metre, because those decide how stiff the tube is.
How do I order?
Tell us the crop, the trellis height and the area. We work out the number of tubes, cut them to the lengths you need and quote.
