The corrugated PVC panels sold at US home centers are usually thin, light sheets for sheds and patios. ASA PVC roofing sheets are a heavier product: 2.5 – 3.0 mm (about 0.1 – 0.12 in) thick, with an ASA weather layer over a PVC core. Santiago rates them for more than 30 years of service with a 10-year warranty and 30-year color fastness.

Why does the ASA layer matter?

PVC left in strong sun without protection fades and gets brittle. ASA is a weather-resistant plastic used on outdoor parts because it holds color in UV. On Santiago sheets it sits on top of the PVC core and carries the color.
