How long a PVC roof panel lasts depends mostly on thickness and UV protection. Thin, unprotected panels can yellow and turn brittle within a few years of full sun. Santiago ASA PVC sheets, 2.5 – 3.0 mm thick with an ASA top layer, are rated for more than 30 years, typically 25 – 30 years in normal use, with a 10-year warranty.
What shortens a panel's life?

How to get the full life out of a roof
- Choose 2.5 mm or thicker; Santiago gives no warranty below 2.5 mm.
- Drill holes slightly larger than the screw shank so the sheet can move with temperature.
- Fix through the top of the rib, with sealing washers and caps.
- Walk only on purlins.
