Barns and livestock
Ammonia in barns and poultry houses attacks galvanized steel from underneath, beginning at screw holes. ASA PVC does not rust, so the roof outlives several steel roofs in the same air. Use stainless fasteners.
When steel is the better buy
A dry machine shed far from the coast, with wide purlin spacing and a tight budget, is often cheaper in steel. Insulation can fix the noise and heat.
