Mr Quyen - Santiago. Posted 03/11/2026
Before ordering from a PVC roofing sheet supplier, check seven things: an ASA top layer, a measured thickness of at least 2.5 mm, a weight that matches it, a written warranty, ISO 9001 and test papers, physical samples, and matching accessories. At Santiago a 2.5 mm sheet weighs about 5.2 kg per metre and carries a 10-year written warranty.

Which seven things should you check?
| Check | How to verify it | Santiago's answer |
|---|---|---|
| 1. ASA top layer | The cut edge shows a coloured skin over a lighter core | ASA surface on a four-layer co-extruded sheet |
| 2. Thickness | Caliper at the cut end, several points | 2.5 – 3.0 mm, stated on every line of the quotation |
| 3. Weight | Weigh a one-metre piece | About 5.2 kg per metre at 2.5 mm |
| 4. Warranty | In writing, with what it covers | 10 years on sheets and tiles from 2.5 mm installed as recommended |
| 5. Quality papers | ISO certificate, test reports, a CQ per lot | ISO 9001:2015, Quatest tests, CQ and C/O per lot |
| 6. Samples | Physical samples of each profile and colour | Free; you pay the courier |
| 7. Accessories | Ridge, hip, edge pieces and capped screws in the same colour | A full set in the same order and container |
What does a good quotation show?
Product, profile, colour, thickness, sheet lengths, quantity, unit price, packing, delivery point and payment terms, line by line. If the thickness is missing from the quotation, a thinner sheet can arrive and nobody can prove it was wrong. Santiago confirms every order in writing and changes nothing after confirmation unless both sides agree in writing.

Which warning signs should make you stop?
- The price is per sheet or per metre, but the thickness is not written.
- A sample piece is much lighter than the weight the supplier quotes.
- The warranty is only promised in a chat, not in a document.
- There are no physical samples, only photos or a colour chart on screen.
- Ridge and edge pieces come from a different source in a slightly different colour.

What should an importer ask about shipping?
Ask for the minimum order, lead time, HS code and certificate of origin before comparing prices. At Santiago the minimum is one 40 ft container, about 5,000 m of sheet, with colours and profiles mixed; production and loading take about 5 days; documents use HS code 3925.90.00, with the C/O form that fits your country.

How does a supplier load PVC roof tiles into an export container?
Mr Quyen explains in English how Santiago loads orange tile sheets for export. The sheets slide down a ramp from the stack into the container, and workers in Santiago uniforms stack them inside.

More short videos: what a supplier can show you
Three more English shorts from the Santiago YouTube channel. Each one is about a minute or less.
What stock does the supplier keep for export and OEM orders?
The camera passes red ridge pieces and stacked red tile sheets in the Santiago warehouse, the stock that goes out on export and OEM orders. The short runs 19 seconds.

Can a supplier show a load demonstration on video?
The 26-second short shows a Santiago truck rolling across two blue sheets on the yard, one tile-profile and one corrugated. Treat it as a demonstration: on a roof, purlins still go less than 700 mm apart.

What should a supplier be able to show you, from factory to roof?
From the factory floor to the roof in about a minute: brown tile sheets stacked at Santiago, a finished grey roof walked end to end, and installers lifting a sheet into place.
